The Ceramic Centre reminds us of what made Giroussens important,
the town’s deep understanding of pottery and ceramics.
The centre helps us to appreciate the essential value of this art form, from people working in the tiniest workshops to the most famous contemporary artists.
There are two exhibition spaces, a shop and a bookstore, as well as an area dedicated to the famous sculptress Lucie Bouniol. Each year the ‘Terre Et Terre’ association organises the ‘Marché des Potiers’ (or Pottery Market), a not-to-be-missed ceramics event where more than 70 exhibitors take over the village to revive a tradition that’s more than a thousand years old.
